Matamuhuri River

Matamuhuri watercourse  a watercourse that originates at 21°14´N and 92°36´E, solely 1° to the north and 1° to the east of the supply of the sangu watercourse within the ranges of hills that divide Arakan from Chittagong. Matamuhuri is that the Bangla version of the Hindu calendar month name Mamuri. just like the Sangu, this watercourse conjointly flows northwest within the Hill Tracts and enters Cox's Bazar district from the east. Flowing west it falls into the bay of geographical region at 21°45´N and 91°57´E forming a broad delta at its mouth extending from Bhola Khal to Khuta Khali. The delta is of constant character because the Sundarban, consisting of teams of islets intersected by a network of recurrent event creeks and lined by angiospermous tree vegetation. the whole space has been brought beneath cultivation by construction embankments. The principal upazila adjacent this watercourse is Chakaria. The length of the watercourse is concerning 287 metric linear unit.
